Subject to the authority of a Unit Head, the Local and Innovative Material Promotion Unit shall be responsible for :

• developing, coordinating, using and ensuring the promotion of Local and Innovative Building Materials ; 
• promoting product lines and services;
• developing and implementing the strategic marketing plan;
• conducting market research and supervising marketing activities;
• participating in the development of e-business strategies for the promotion, dissemination and marketing of products;
• liaising between research and development programmes as well as partnerships with regard to extension and innovation, in conjunction with the cooperation department;
• prospecting markets in the field of local and innovative material;
• updating the price list, services and products offered in conjunction with the departments concerned;
• identifying new market opportunities and products
• collecting and analysing market data;
• analysing and anticipating customer needs and expectations;
• developing, promoting and launching products and services;
• participating in the implementation of promotional activities in conjunction with the relevant departments;
• participating in the preparation of periodic reports on campaign performance and financial results in conjunction with the competent services;
• raising public awareness on the use of local and innovative material.

In addition to the Unit Head, it comprises three (03) Assistant Research Officers.
